MINI SERIES (4-12)

The Mini Series program uses special equipment, court-sizes and balls to shrink the game to the child. This translates to more fun, more hitting, more rallies and an easier route to playing real matches!

An easier route to success and fun competition helps translate to a lifetime of interest in the sport and set the foundation for a future tennis success. Our experienced coaches will work closely with each student to help guide them through our tennis pathway and get them on the road to playing great tennis whilst having lots of fun!

Red Ball
Age level: 4 to 7 years
Description:

The Red Ball program is the first step on the LTCA pathway. Designed for our youngest players (roughly 4-7 years old), we play over a mini-net on a court about ¼ the size of a full size tennis court. It’s just like the real game and gives players opportunities to have long rallies and play different types of shots. The focus at this level is to build the basic ABC’s (Agility, Balance and Co-ordination) as well as fundamental tennis technique - but whilst keeping things fun and pressure-free for our juniors. Some of the top Red Ball players will start to play matches and understand the scoring system as they become ready.

Duration: 1 hour.
Orange Ball
Age level: 8 to 10 years
Description:

The Orange Ball program is a great way for players to continue their progress from Red Ball and is for players aged 8 to 10 years old. It is played with shorter rackets, softer balls and courts are bigger and wider than the red stage but still smaller than full-size tennis courts allowing players to develop a rounded game whilst learning a range of techniques and tactics. Our Orange Ball players who graduated from Red Ball will usually be confident in playing matches and understand the scoring system - so they can play internal tournaments.

Duration: 1 hour.
Green/Yellow Ball
Age level: 10 to 14 years
Description:

The final step before playing regular tennis, Green Ball is played on a full-size tennis court, with almost full-size rackets and balls which are a little softer (and therefore slower) than yellow balls. Green Ball is for players aged between 10-14 depending on level, and some exceptionally developed juniors may even start at 9 years old. The extra time the players get with the slower ball allows for longer rallies, and better accessibility even for new players who may join at this stage (depending on age). Most of our Green Ball players will be comfortable playing matches and scoring by themselves, and have a good understanding of basic tactics. Players may be playing internal or external tournaments depending on level.

Duration: 1 hour.
JUNIOR SERIES (11-18)

Our Junior Series Program is the next level program for junior players up to the age of 18 years old and down to serious 11 year old players who may have moved beyond Green Ball. to develop technical and tactical strategies to compete for both singles and doubles competition. We also have classes in the junior series for teenage beginners who want to start catching up, it’s never too late to play great tennis!

Junior Series provides players with the most enjoyable experience, as well as the greatest opportunity to reach their full potential, with each level building on the skills developed at prior levels.
